Qualification: B.E./M.E/B.Tech/ M.Tech in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Cooling Towers / HVAC / Thermal Engineering
Location: Pardi, GIDC, 396125 GJ
Travel: Extensive Required
Role Overview
Lead technical & design activities for cooling tower selections and projects. Act as the key technical interface between clients, sales, production, QC, service, and design teams. Ensure accurate selections, documentation, approvals, and technical communication.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical and design engineering team by delegating work, tracking output, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Manage cooling tower selections for standard, Crossflow, Counterflow, closed-loop systems, and customized energy-efficient configurations.
- Support internal departments, vendors, and clients with technical clarifications and guidance whenever required.
- Conduct in-person or virtual technical meetings with consultants, end users, and contractors to resolve design-related queries.
- Analyse competitor technologies and market offerings; prepare and share comparison reports with management.
- Review Sales Orders thoroughly to ensure alignment between PO, SO, TDS, and any project-specific technical conditions.
- Prepare technical documents such as deviation sheets, compliance statements, budgetary offers, and product presentations.
- Keep all TDS files, BOQs, client data sheets, revision logs, and technical documents updated for small and large-capacity projects.
- Oversee new product development initiatives and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain complete technical documentation including design changes, revisions, and project records.
- Handle queries related to design parameters, tower model selection, technical specifications, and performance data.
- Upgrade and maintain the cooling tower selection software for existing and new product series.
- Coordinate CTI Recertification activities annually, manage testing schedules, and maintain updated CTI Data of Record.
- Travel extensively for technical meetings, audits, CTI inspections, and customer project discussions.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of thermal engineering & cooling tower design.
- Hands-on experience in standard & project-specific cooling tower selections.
- Good understanding of Crossflow & Counterflow technologies.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and manage engineering teams effectively.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Excel, design sheets, CRM systems.
- High work ethic, ownership mindset, and customer-oriented approach.
