Job Profile:
The Tech Lead will act as the main technical interface point with assigned customers to ensure that channel go-live happens on time, with quality. Be a partner to Project Manager and provide technical leadership during customer calls. It's a joint responsibility of the tech lead and PM to teach customers and educate them about whats possible and what's not.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand how the customer will deliver assets, metadata, playlists, and write requirement specifications for the customization team.
- Understand any automation/customization/reporting requirements and any other requirements from requirements, write requirement specs, and coordinate with internal Engineering/Customization
- Work with customers and internal teams on any change in requirements.
- Understand customer requirements and advise on how to use Amagi's products and services to fulfil those requirements.
- Work closely with Implementation Engineers to deploy and configure Amagi's and third-party software solutions, and ensure the configurations and deployment are proper
- Build trusting relationships with customers and partners
- Adopt quality as a mindset. Ensure that everything being sent or delivered to the customer is tested and works as expected. Double-check the technical work done by the Product and Engineering team, the Customization team, DevOps, and/or the implementation teams
- Obtain a deep understanding of ALL Amagi products and services
- Guide, train, and mentor Implementation Engineers
- Work with the Engineering team to understand new features and deploy new customer requirements that are otherwise not supported by the product
- Be available to work in the US Shift
Skills and Expertise Required:
- Our ideal candidate has atleast 8 years of experience in the Media Tech domain, with at least 2 of them in an external customer-facing role.
- Expertise in Playout and Live orchestration systems
- Expertise in asset and metadata ingest and transcoding
- Expertise in at least one scheduling system
- Expertise in at least one playout system and graphics insertion system
- Experience in working with Transport Stream and various encoders
- Expertise in stream delivery over internet technologies - SRT, Zixi, HLS, DASH
- Expertise in stream delivery over fiber, ASI, and SDI
- Expertise in AWS media services - Medialive, Mediastore, MediaTailor, etc
- Knowledge of how EPG works
- Good Communication Skills
- Advanced Knowledge of various video codecs and standards
- Advanced knowledge of how playout systems work
