About the Role

As a Technical Writer in our Reinsurance Solutions team, you'll be at the forefront of information development, creating exceptional documentation that enhances user experience. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver clear, concise, and effective content that meets the evolving needs of our diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, research, plan, analyze, and author high-quality technical documentation

  • Implement minimalism principles and conform to corporate writing style guides when authoring topics

  • Analyze current product documentation to determine usability and implement necessary improvements

  • Adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and processes in a fast-paced agile environment

  • Enhance content quality by incorporating feedback from customers and internal users

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions

  • Demonstrate strong ownership of work and deliverables

  • Create, peer review, and publish documentation on our online portal

About the Team

Reinsurance Solutions is one of the three pillars within Swiss Re Reinsurance, aiming to add value to clients original business by providing solutions and services across the value chain. The Service Delivery Management team is responsible for designing and managing processes for successful delivery and efficient operations of software products and services to customers. By enabling effective Service Delivery Management, we help streamline processes, optimize resource utilization, and improve customer experiences.

About You

You're a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for creating clear, concise documentation. You thrive in collaborative environments and can translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content. Your analytical mindset allows you to understand user needs and create documentation that addresses those needs effectively.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • University degree in English, Technical Communication, Information Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or comparable education/equivalent experience)

  • Overall 4+ years of experience including at least 2+ years in technical writing for sophisticated documentation projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Experience with XML-based authoring tools and DITA standard

  • Ability to obtain information through research, interviews, and experimentation

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience working in Software Product technical documentation

  • Working knowledge of developing user guides, release notes, installation guides, and topic-based writing

  • Experience with persona-based writing

  • Proficiency in international languages like Simplified Chinese or Japanese

  • Understanding of software engineering concepts and terminology

  • Personal demeanor encompassing proactivity, ownership, and continuous improvement
