Technical Architect

Microland is seeking a Principal Architect (P4) to provide architectural leadership across complex, business-critical systems. This is a senior individual contributor role for professionals who combine strong system design expertise with hands-on engineering capability and a clear understanding of business context.

Role Overview

The Principal Architect will drive system design and architectural strategy while remaining actively involved in development. The role requires close collaboration with engineering teams, ownership of architectural decisions, and the ability to step in to resolve complex technical challenges when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end system and database architecture across projects
• Design, validate, and evolve cloud and security architectures
• Lead architectural reviews, proof-of-concepts, and complex design decisions
• Maintain strong hands-on capability in Python and React to support teams and validate designs
• Intervene in development to debug, prototype, and resolve high-complexity issues
• Create and maintain HLD, LLD, and solution design documentation
• Establish technical standards, patterns, and best practices
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong, learning-oriented engineering culture
• Align architectural decisions with business priorities and outcomes

• Advanced to expert expertise in system design and architecture
• Expert knowledge of database design and management
• Advanced experience in cloud architecture and security
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Python and React
• Proven ability to lead through influence and technical credibility
• Experience contributing architectural insights to business or product discussions
