The Technical Advisor Machinery / Packages serves as a senior technical authority providing expert guidance and advisory support for packaged mechanical equipment across complex engineering projects. The role contributes directly to value creation through technical decision-making, consulting, and oversight of critical package systems for onshore, offshore, LNG, and FLNG facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a recognized technical authority for machinery and packaged equipment across projects
- Provide advisory and consulting support on complex engineering and package-related matters
- Develop specifications, datasheets, and technical requirements for packaged equipment
- Lead technical bid evaluations and provide recommendations for package selection
- Review vendor drawings and coordinate technical information with internal engineering teams
- Support FEED-stage engineering activities related to package systems
- Guide engineers in understanding process flows, P&IDs, and system schematics
- Oversee engineering of large gas compression systems, utility packages, and HVAC systems
- Support vendor coordination, factory acceptance testing, and technical clarifications
- Provide field commissioning and start-up support when required
- Support global projects through short-term travel and assignments as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in engineering of packaged equipment
- Extensive exposure to Oil & Gas projects, with experience in LNG, FLNG, or offshore facilities preferred
- Strong understanding of FEED-stage package engineering and design practices
