The Tech Research Analyst Intern role is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to contribute to our R&D Strategy Team. The intern will play a pivotal role in driving technology intelligence, product benchmarking, and strategic insight generation, serving as a bridge between internal R&D innovation and external technology ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology & Market Intelligence:
- Conduct research on emerging technologies, innovation ecosystems, and global R&D trends.
- Analyze competitive landscapes, product benchmarks, patent activity, and academic advancements.
- Maintain a Technology Intelligence Repository and update leadership on key developments.
- Internal Product & Technology Review:
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand the current R&D portfolio.
- Evaluate internal technologies on parameters such as innovation depth, scalability, and maturity.
- Identify strengths, gaps, and areas for differentiation or improvement.
- Strategic Insight Development:
- Synthesize insights from internal and external data to generate actionable recommendations.
- Highlight potential areas for technology acceleration, partnerships, or research prioritization.
- Support strategic decision-making through analyses and technology foresight exercises.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare high-impact reports, dashboards, and strategy presentations.
- Create concise and visual narratives to communicate complex technology insights.
- Contribute to quarterly technology outlooks and long-term R&D strategy documents.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and strategy leaders to align technology development with organizational strategy.
- Collaborate with IP, business planning, and innovation teams to integrate insights into broader roadmaps.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Strategic Management.
- 2-4 years of experience in technology research, R&D strategy, or innovation analysis.
- Strong understanding of emerging technology domains (AI, OS, IoT, semiconductors, cloud, etc.).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and research databases (Gartner, CB Insights, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and present insights effectively to senior leadership.
