The Team
The Data Engineering team in Panalgo support petabyte scale big data systems. Our customers require analysis of large datasets from disparate sources. As a part of the data engineering team you will be optimizing the processing systems and delivering ETL jobs to efficiently transform these datasets to proprietary format for analysis. You will be leading a scrum team, refining tickets to workable units and unblocking the team by solving hairy issues.
Scope and Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Tech Leadto join our software engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in big data technologies and proven leadership experience. You'll guide a team of talented engineers and help build scalable, big-data systems that process petabyte scale data efficiently.
- Lead a scrum development team. Handle ticket refinement, daily updates and productivity of the team
- Maintain a legacy Ruby/Java based ETL framework
- Guide junior team members in solving complex technical problems
- Be responsible for end-to-end delivery of the work assigned to the team
- Work closely with the Boston based development/product managers to gather and refine work requirements
- Find ways to optimize and automate data ETL processes under the team's purview
- Research, evaluate and implement new technology and framework
Qualification
- Minimum 8 years experience in processing terabyte scale datasets
- At least 2 yeas experience as a team lead
- Experience with design and implementation of ETL frameworks
- Hands on with Java and Python
- Well versed in using Linux operating system, tools and concepts
- Well versed in EMR/Sparkarchitecture and optimization
- Well versed in modern SDLC based on containerization, CI/CD
- Well versed in SQL (redshift, snowflake)
- Can learn new languages, domain and systems quickly

- Experience in Ruby
- Linux scripting and automation
