About The Role
The Tech Lead Data Solutions & Data Products is a senior technical leader responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering scalable data solutions and data products on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This role combines deep handson technical expertise with architecture leadership and team guidance. The Tech Lead drives solution design, sets engineering standards, and ensures data products are robust, secure, scalable, and aligned to business outcomes. You will act as the technical anchor between architects, engineers, product owners, and platform teams.
This is a highimpact role requiring strong judgment, systemlevel thinking, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical, productionready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Solution Architecture (AWS & GCP)
- Lead the endtoend technical design of data solutions across AWS and GCP, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Design scalable architectures for data ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption, including batch and streaming use cases.
- Select appropriate cloud services and patterns while balancing performance, cost, security, and maintainability.
- Review and approve technical designs and solution approaches proposed by the engineering team.
- Data Product Development Leadership
- Lead the technical delivery of data products, ensuring they are:
- Wellmodeled and consumptionready, Governed, documented, and reliable. Built for reuse and scalability
- Partner with Data Product Owners to translate business requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans.
- Ensure data products support analytics, reporting, and downstream AI/ML use cases.
- Technical Guidance & Team Leadership
- Act as the primary technical mentor for data engineers and senior engineers.
- Set and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices.
- Guide teams through complex problemsolving and architectural tradeoffs.
- Perform technical reviews for code, pipelines, and infrastructure changes.
- Platform & Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with platform architects, DevOps, and cloud operations teams to ensure solutions align with platform capabilities and guardrails.
- Influence platform evolution by providing feedback from solution and data product perspectives.
- Ensure solutions are operationally ready (monitoring, alerting, supportability).
- NonFunctional Excellence
- Ensure data solutions meet nonfunctional requirements, including:
- Performance and scalability
- Security and access control
- Reliability and recoverability
- Cost efficiency (FinOps awareness)
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Communication
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Provide technical input for estimation, planning, and prioritization.
- Support architecture reviews and technical governance forums.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data platform roles.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering data solutions on AWS and GCP.
- Strong handson experience building productiongrade data pipelines and data products. Deep understanding of:
- Data modeling and analytics patterns
- Batch and streaming architectures
- Cloudnative design principles
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) and experience with modern data frameworks.
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions under realworld constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing analytics, supply chain analytics, or operational reporting.
- Experience working with Lakehouse or modern data platform architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
- Experience supporting AI/ML workloads on top of data platforms.
- Prior experience acting as a technical lead or solution owner for complex initiatives.
- Exposure to multicloud or cloudagnostic design principles.
