Role Definition

Oversees and coordinates the activities of a more complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.

Experience Genset Test 8 to 12 years

Education - Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering

Responsibilities

  • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.

Should have worked on HV Gensets

To conduct complete performance, electrical, mechanical, safety, and endurance testing of diesel/gas generator sets as per defined test procedures. Ensure each genset meets output, frequency, voltage, noise, and emission norms before dispatch.

Perform test cycles and Conduct protection checks

Check alignment of enginealternator (for skid/coupled sets).

Measure:

  • Voltage, frequency, current, power (kW/kVA/kVAR)
  • Phase sequence, unbalance
  • Fuel consumption at various loads
  • Heat rejection, coolant temp, oil pressure
  • Exhaust temperature, back pressure

Evaluate:

  • AVR behavior
  • Alternator excitation
  • Governor stability
  • Efficiency calculations

Ensure compliance with CPCB norms (II / CPCB IV+ etc.).

Diagnose issues and provide feedback to assembly, electrical and quality teams.

Prepare And Maintain:

  • Test reports (for each genset)
  • Parameter trends and graphs
  • Defect/abnormality logs
  • Traceability records (engine, alternator, panel)
  • Load test certificates for dispatch

Update ERP/MES for genset status (OK / Rework / Reject).
