Overview of Job
We are looking for an experienced
Lead MERN Developer to oversee the development and delivery of full-stack applications using the
MERN stack. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in React, Node.js, and Next.js, along with hands-on experience with
AWS cloud services and
DevOps practices. As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for managing a team, interacting with clients, providing accurate time estimates, ensuring smooth deployments and maintaining the agile process within the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and deployment of scalable full-stack applications using the MERN stack.
- Manage and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews and ensuring adherence to best coding practices.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business requirements, suggest technical solutions, provide regular updates and handle escalations.
- Work within the Agile/Scrum framework to manage the development cycle. Ensure proper sprint planning, task assignment and that deadlines are met.
- Accurately estimate the time and resources required for tasks, ensuring projects stay within scope and on schedule.
- Utilize AWS cloud services to architect, deploy and manage application infrastructure. Apply DevOps principles to optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and improve application performance.
- Oversee end-to-end deployment processes, ensuring smooth releases and minimizing downtime. Handle production issues and ensure systems operate efficiently post-launch.
- Ensure the code is clean, efficient and scalable. Drive the team toward delivering high-quality products with a focus on performance, security and maintainability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, QA and product managers, to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience with MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js and Next.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS and CloudFront for managing scalable infrastructure.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab or other CI/CD tools to automate workflows and deploy applications efficiently.
- Proficient in Agile development methodologies and experience in leading sprints, retrospectives and planning meetings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client relationships and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, manage performance and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building high-quality products.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
