Job Summary
We are seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineer (10+ years experience) to lead the Consolidated Back Office (CBO) engineering team. This role combines strong full-stack technical expertise with people management and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will guide a team of backend and frontend engineers in designing, building, and maintaining applications that centralize and automate back-office operations such as trade settlement, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting. The role requires hands-on knowledge of .NET Core / C#, React, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures, as well as the ability to mentor engineers and ensure delivery excellence.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the development of financial products, driving design, architecture, and implementation of core application features.
- Provide technical direction across backend (.NET Core, distributed systems) and frontend (React, component libraries) technologies.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, performant, and compliant with financial standards.
- Oversee integrations with APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures within the CBO platform.
- Apply best practices including SOLID principles, unit testing, and observability.
- Reverse engineer and refactor legacy code to improve maintainability and extend functionality.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to increase team productivity.
Team Management & Delivery
- Manage the day-to-day operations of a cross-functional engineering team, ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries.
- Work with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and coach engineers at different levels (backend, frontend, and full stack) to develop their technical and professional skills.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, CI/CD, and cloud-native solutions.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and Operations.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical execution.
- Provide input into the strategic direction of CBO platform development, balancing innovation with delivery needs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Strong full-stack expertise:
- Backend: .NET Core / C#, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven patterns.
- Frontend: React, modern UI frameworks, component library design, state management.
- Experience in financial systems, back-office automation, or enterprise platforms strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of cloud environments (Azure or AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Proven experience with reverse engineering and refactoring legacy applications.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
- Excellent problem-solving, architectural thinking, and communication skills.
- Track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
