Job Requirements
Job Purpose: Responsible for leading, implementing, and supporting IT solutions for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and plant automation. This role bridges R&D, Engineering, manufacturing and IT teams to enable digital process & solutions for R&D and manufacturing operations.
Job Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Own end-to-end PLM solution
- Manage PLM roadmap, upgrades, enhancements, and system performance.
- Work with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align PLM processes (BOM, EBOMMBOM, change management, document management).
- Ensure integration of PLM with ERP S4HANA, MES, CAD, and other enterprise systems.
- Define and enforce PLM data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Plant Automation & Industrial IT
- Deploy & manage plant automation solution (e.g. SCADA, DCS, PLC, HMI, MES, historians, & IIoT)
- Lead digital manufacturing initiatives such as smart factory, predictive maintenance, energy monitoring, and real-time production dashboards.
- Ensure integration between automation systems and enterprise IT systems (ERP, PLM, BI).
- Collaborate with Operational Technology teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable automation infrastructure.
- Define cybersecurity standards for OT/ICS environments in line with IT security policies.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Vendor management, licensing, and SLA adherence.
- Lead cross-functional digital transformation projects across plants and engineering.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budget, risks, and quality.
- Communicate with business partners to elicit, analyze, communicate, document, and validate requirements.
- Changes in business processes, revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary, policies and information systems ensuring testing requirements are met.
- Release requirement document to invite proposals for implementation and/or maintenance. Evaluate & internally recommend new technology solutions for customer facing application proposed by technology partners. Build business case in consultation with business stakeholders.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, technology partners and IT teams (SAP, Infra & Applications) to perform following:
- Act as business analyst for new requirements and change requests. Lead requirement gathering and BRD preparation in collaboration with the business teams.
- Track rollout deliveries as per agreed timelines & cost.
- Issue identification and timely escalation to relevant stakeholders to resolve exceptions.
- Organize scheduled functional IT reviews and provide updates on progress.
- Documentation and adherence to change control policies & procedures of software development or project management lifecycle methodologies.
Work Experience
Technical & Functional Skills:
- BE / B. Tech / MCA preferably from manufacturing / EPC industry.
- Techno-functional with 5+ years of experience in PLM platforms (e.g. Dassault, Teamcenter, Windchill or equivalent).
- Good understanding of CAD tools, BOM structures, and engineering change processes.
- Knowledge of plant automation systems: PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES, historians.
- Experience with system integration (SAPPLMMES), APIs, middleware.
- Understanding of IIoT, Industry 4.0, and smart manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of ITOT integrated cybersecurity principles.
- Good understanding of SAP PP/MM basics and S4HANA integration experience is preferred.
