Position Summary

The Teamcenter Advanced Classification Administrator is responsible for developing,

maintaining, and governing classification structures within Siemens Teamcenter. This role

ensures accurate metadata organization, supports engineering search efficiency, and upholds

PLM data integrity across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Administer the Teamcenter Advanced Classification module, including classes,

subclasses, taxonomies, attributes, units, enumerations, and rules.

Create and maintain classification hierarchies aligned with engineering and business

standards.

Configure and manage class templates, icons, and property definitions.

Ensure data quality and consistency across classified objects and metadata.

Support end users by resolving classification issues, search and filter problems, and UI

behavior within Rich Client or Active Workspace.

Work closely with Engineering, IT, Product Management and Data Governance teams to

implement enhancements.

Collaborate on PLM system upgrades, testing, and validation of classification

functionality.

Document standard operating procedures, naming conventions, and governance

guidelines.

Provide training and guidance to engineering teams on classification best practices.

Drive continuous improvement of classification search performance and user

experience.

Required Qualifications

Handson experience with Siemens Teamcenter, including Advanced Classification or

Engineering Item Classification.

Strong understanding of PLM concepts, metadata structures, and taxonomy principles.

Proficiency with Rich Client (RAC) and/or Active Workspace (AW).

Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into classification

structures.

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

Experience supporting end users in technical environments.

Ability to work crossfunctionally with engineering, IT and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience with BMIDE configuration for classification-related data model extensions.

Knowledge of Material Classification, Component Libraries, Part Families, or engineering

metadata standards.

Familiarity with Teamcenter workflows, lifecycles, and access management.

Basic experience with SQL, XML, or scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.
