Job Description
The Primary PYP Homeroom Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction within the
IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework for students in Grades 4 and 5. The teacher will create an engaging, inquiry-based learning environment that promotes academic excellence and supports students social, emotional, and intellectual development.
- Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging IB PYP inquiry-based lessons aligned with the PYP framework.
- Develop and implement transdisciplinary units of inquiry for Grades 4 and 5.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Student Development
- Foster students critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Support the academic, social, and emotional development of each learner.
- Promote international mindedness and the IB Learner Profile attributes.
- Assessment & Reporting
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and learning outcomes.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with PYP coordinators and grade-level teams.
- Participate in curriculum planning meetings and professional learning communities.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Stay updated with IB PYP teaching methodologies and best practices.
- Participate in professional development and training programs.
