Position Summary

Tax Consultant I/II - UK Tax US- UK Private

Position Overview

Our purpose is to build a world class team for US-UK Private team (as part of UK Private Client Services team) to win and deliver the quality work and provides opportunities for the growth and development of our professionals. Our vision is to work towards full integration with the UK engagement teams to deliver all the compliance work from USI. Having this vision, we want to recruit an experienced tax technical professional to facilitate the planned financial growth and development of the team and to meet our objective of consistently being able to deliver a quality service on various engagements.

The Team

The UK USI PCS team is spread across five locations in India. Our US-UK Private team is involved in the preparation of US returns for high-net-worth individuals, law firm partners and corporate executives. Additionally, we do the UK returns of these US individuals as they have UK tax return filling requirement. The team executes end-to-end processes and delivers to a wide range of services in various work stream.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analysis of the data, extracting and processing information to produce and prepare US and UK Individual Tax returns of HNIs, partners of law firms and corporate executives .
  • Identification and documentation of issues and preparation of client queries.
  • Ensure quality is of the highest standard and the client service is exceptional.
  • Working with the UK team as part of a wider team to complete required volumes of work and building a long-term relationship with the engagement managers.
  • Other US and UK Individual Tax compliance related tasks as part of our full engagement service.

Qualifications And Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in preparation of US and UK Individual Tax returns (for HNIs corporate execs and law firm partners).
  • Proficiency in US concepts such as residency, investment portfolio; foreign account reporting is desired.
  • Good working knowledge of US forms (such as K-1, 1099, 1042-S; 8865; 926), Additional knowledge on Passive foreign Investment Companies (PFIC); Foreign tax credit and sourcing of income could be a bonus point.
  • Experience of assisting in developing and maintaining relationship with client teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • EA qualification, or equivalent, is desirable but not essential. Support will be available to sit these exams or to expand any existing qualifications, together with further applicable learning.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Ability to follow defined procedures and protocols. Methodical and organised working skills.
  • Proactive approach to work and completing work by required deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills including a good understanding of Excel.
