Reporting To: Head Talent Acquisition

About the role

The Talent Acquisition Manager at Universal Sompo General Insurance is responsible for driving the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle to meet the evolving needs of the General Insurance industry. Based at our Corporate Office in Mumbai, you will partner with business leaders to attract, assess, and onboard high-quality talent across diverse functions including Underwriting, Claims, Sales, Risk, and Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute innovative recruitment strategies to build a robust pipeline for critical insurance roles. Utilize diverse channels including job boards, LinkedIn Recruiter, employee referrals, and specialized insurance networks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a strategic partner to departmental heads and vertical leaders to understand workforce requirements and ensure timely fulfillment of manpower plans.
  • Full Lifecycle Recruitment: Manage the complete hiring process from requirement gathering and sourcing to screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation.
  • Campus & Early Talent: Lead campus hiring initiatives for Management Trainees and Graduate Trainees, maintaining strong relationships with premier educational institutions.
  • Employer Branding: Promote Universal Sompo as an Employer of Choice by driving branding initiatives and enhancing the candidate experience.
  • Data & Analytics: Maintain and analyze recruitment MIS, tracking key metrics such as Turnaround Time (TAT), Cost-per-Hire, and Quality of Hire to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Compliance & Process: Ensure all recruitment activities adhere to internal HR policies, labor laws, and IRDAI-regulated industry standards.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Post Graduation (2-year full-time MBA/PGDM in HR or a related field) is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in Talent Acquisition (typically 510 years), with a strong preference for candidates from the General Insurance, BFSI, or Financial Services sectors.

Key Competencies

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with specialized insurance domains such as Claims, Underwriting, and Actuarial science.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRMS platforms, and advanced MS Excel.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to map talent and provide market intelligence on competitor hiring trends and compensation benchmarks.
