Role Overview
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with the opportunity to evolve into a talent function lead as we grow. You will work directly with founders and technical leadership to identify, attract, and close exceptional product and engineering talent.
This role is not about volume hiring - it is about precision, judgment, and building teams that compound in quality over time.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own and drive end-to-end hiring for Product, Engineering, and Technical roles, from role scoping to offer closure
- Partner directly with founders, product leaders, and engineering managers to translate business roadmaps into structured hiring plans
- Build strong pipelines for high-impact technical talent, including software engineers, AI/ML engineers, product managers, and design roles
- Conduct deep talent mapping, proactive sourcing, and market research to identify and engage top-tier candidates
- Design and continuously refine hiring processes, interview frameworks, and evaluation scorecards to improve quality and speed of hire
- Ensure a high-touch, founder-caliber candidate experience that reflects Risa Labs standards and culture
- Track and report hiring metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements
- Act as a strategic advisor to hiring managers on compensation benchmarking, talent availability, and competitive positioning
- Lay the foundation for a scalable talent function, with the opportunity to grow into a team leadership role as hiring scales
Qualifications
- 510 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, with significant exposure to Product and Engineering hiring in startup or high-growth environments
- Proven track record of closing complex technical roles through strong sourcing, assessment, and stakeholder management
- Experience partnering closely with founders or senior technical leaders
- Strong understanding of engineering skill sets (e.g., backend, frontend, full stack, AI/ML, DevOps) and product roles
- Experience hiring for US-based roles and managing cross-border stakeholders while operating from India is a plus
- Ability to operate independently as a high-ownership individual contributor while building systems that can scale into a future team
- Data-driven mindset with experience using hiring metrics to drive improvements.
