Proprietary Requirements Definition & Supplier Identification (35%):
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Quality, Regulatory and R&D teams to thoroughly understand unique technical specifications, performance requirements, and intellectual property considerations for proprietary components and products.
- Identify, research, and pre-qualify specialized suppliers capable of meeting stringent technical and quality standards for proprietary items.
- Leverage current supplier list in sourcing events, and bring additional suppliers as qualified suppliers to manage lists of qualified, preferred suppliers
Complex E-Sourcing & Negotiation (30%):
- Design and execute more complex tactical e-sourcing events in Coupa (e.g., detailed RFQs, multi-round e-auctions) tailored for proprietary product requirements, focusing on capabilities, quality, and cost.
- Lead tactical negotiations with selected suppliers, addressing specific terms related to intellectual property, exclusivity, non-disclosure agreements, and quality assurance.
Project-Based Sourcing & Risk Mitigation (20%):
- Manage sourcing activities for proprietary products within the context of specific product development projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
- Identify potential supply chain risks unique to proprietary items (e.g., single source reliance, IP infringement) and propose mitigation strategies.
Automation & Category/R&D Engagement (15%):
- Leverage automation within Coupa for workflow approvals, document generation (e.g., NDAs, simple agreements), and tracking of proprietary sourcing milestones.
- Maintain continuous engagement with R&D, Product Management, and relevant Category Team Members/Leaders to ensure seamless integration of proprietary sourcing into product strategy and category management.
