The Opportunity: Purchasing Power is one of Atlanta's fastest growing e-retailers is seeking a Tableau BI Developer to join our team in Chennai, India. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the design, development and implementation of reports, dashboards, KPIs using Tableau visualization tools and VBA. Work closely with the other BI developers & Analysts in US and collaboratively work with Data Engineers to source the relevant data into our data warehouse. Also work on automating the process wherever required. The selected candidate will report directly to the Data Architect in India. This individual may be required to provide input to or participate in various projects and will perform other duties as requested.

What You Will Do:

Data Source Development:

Define and implement Live vs. Extract strategy

Build optimized Tableau data sources from Greenplum Database (or any Data Warehouse)

Create reusable, certified published data sources

Optimize extract performance and refresh strategies

Advanced Calculations & Business Logic

Develop complex LOD expressions and table calculations

Implement parameters and dynamic user controls

Translate complex business logic into scalable Tableau solutions

Dashboard Development

Design executive-level dashboards with strong storytelling principles

Apply UX/UI best practices

Optimize dashboard performance and scalability

Develop drill-down and interactive analytics experiences

Governance & Administration

Implement row-level security and data access controls

Establish versioning and promotion processes

Administer and manage Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud

Define and maintain BI governance standards

Analytics & Business KPIs

Partner with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements

Define KPIs and standardize metric definitions across the organization

Validate data quality and ensure trust in reporting

Translate business problems into scalable data solutions

Build and execute a BI roadmap

Mentor and guide analysts and BI developers

Education & Experience:

8+ years of experience in BI / Analytics Engineering

Advanced expertise in Tableau (data modeling, performance optimization, advanced calculations) Strong SQL skills and experience working with MPP databases (preferably Greenplum)

Deep understanding of: Data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) Query optimization Enterprise BI architecture Experience leading analytics initiatives and working directly with business stakeholders

Nice to have:

Exposure to AI, ML Models, LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows

Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics

Experience scaling BI in large, complex data environments

Knowledge of data governance frameworks

Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems

Experience integrating Tableau with multiple data sources
