Responsibilities
- Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop environments.
- Manage user access, permissions, and security groups in Tableau Server.
- Support publishing, scheduling, and versioning of Tableau dashboards and data sources.
- Monitor server performance; extract refresh schedules, and logs to ensure system stability.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve server, performance, and connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with Tableau Developers to optimise workbook performance and ensure best practices.
- Participate in upgrade and patch management activities.
- Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and operational guidelines.
- Provide basic support and training for Tableau users within the organisation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience with Tableau Desktop and/or Tableau Server administration.
- Basic understanding of SQL, data warehousing concepts, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux server environments.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and role-based access control.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Exposure to Tableau Cloud.
- Knowledge of Python or PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience with Active Directory integration and SSO (SAML, LDAP).
- Good to Have - Awareness of other BI tools (e. g., Superset environments.
