The Impact you will have in this role:

The Enterprise Scheduling Engineering organization is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Batch Scheduling environment. Our primary objective is to deliver flexible, scalable scheduling capabilities through self-service and automation, while consistently enforcing established best practices to reduce risk while accelerating enterprise-wide automation.

The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration and operational support of Distributed Scheduling across Linux and cloud-based platforms. This role partners closely with infrastructure-as-code-driven automation initiatives to design, develop, and deliver new automation capabilities, as well as to enhance and evolve existing solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experiences

Talents Needed for Success:

Soft-Skills:

  • Team oriented with good communication skills
    • Willing and able to collaborate with team members and clients to achieve goals and meet deadlines
    • History of developing new automation tasks that reduced manual effort while reducing risk
    • Experience creating technical documentation

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Linux Administration (Minimum 3 years experience)
    • Proficient Automation Skills (Minimum 3 years experience)
      • Shell scripting
      • Python scripting
    • Independently install, upgrade, customize and integrate all components of Autosys
    • Minimum 3+ years experience in Distributed Scheduling (Autosys and Airflow)
    • Conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing (IDE Tools: AWS Q)
    • Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability
    • Create and publish system documentation for enabling IT to use automated scheduling solutions
    • Partner with experienced team members to develop new automation
    • Containerized Platform Knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Software Configuration Management
    • Version Control Knowledge (Bitbucket)
    • Cloud Knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP, IAM, Ingress/Egress Policies)
    • Automation Tool Knowledge (CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Chef)
