Job Description

Job Description

Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Power Systems team in Bangalore, focused on system architecture and product definition for AC-DC and isolated DC-DC power controller products. In this role, you will own system-level architecture, modeling, and technical tradeoff analysis that guides silicon design decisions from early concept through product release.

You will work closely with design, validation, and product line teams to define robust, scalable power controller architectures using simulation-driven insights and deep power electronics expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own system architecture and product definition for AC-DC and isolated DC-DC power controller families, including Flybacks, PFCs and resonant converter based topologies.
  • Define controller architectures, control strategies, and key feature sets using system-level modeling and simulation with SIMPLIS, PLECS, SPICE, and MATLAB.
  • Perform tradeoff analysis across efficiency, power density, transient performance, EMI and cost to guide architecture decisions in the sub-3.3 kW power range
  • Develop small-signal models, loop compensation strategies, and stability criteria to support architecture reviews and design convergence.
  • Translate market needs into clear, actionable system requirements and technical specifications for silicon design teams.
  • Partner with design and validation teams throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept, feasibility, and architecture definition to silicon bring-up, characterization, and release.
  • Review silicon architecture proposals, validation plans, and silicon results to ensure alignment with system-level requirements.
  • Drive consistency and reuse across controller architectures, reference designs, and modeling methodologies.
  • Contribute to long-term roadmap planning by identifying architectural gaps and opportunities in AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a semiconductor company working on power controller architecture, systems engineering, or advanced applications.
  • Deep fundamentals in power electronics, control theory, and system stability analysis.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SIMPLIS, PLECS, SPICE, and MATLAB for architecture evaluation and control modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of power conversion topologies including flyback, LLC, PFC, phase-shifted full bridge, resonant, and asymmetric half-bridge converters.
  • Proven experience driving products through multiple full development cycles, from architectural concept to production release.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Power Electronics or a related specialization.
  • Experience defining reusable controller architectures and platform-based designs.
  • Ability to influence silicon design decisions through data-driven system analysis.
  • Experience reviewing and guiding validation strategies to ensure system-level coverage.
