Position Overview
Saint-Gobain is seeking a proactive and detailed-oriented Application Reliability Engineer specializing in Industry 4.0 technologies to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be part of Indec 4.0, the Global Competency Center for Saint-Gobain, serving all Industry 4.0 initiatives for over 800 factories worldwide. Indec 4.0 is a strong team of 350+ members dedicated to advancing manufacturing processes through cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate should have strong IT fundamentals, experience supporting enterprise applications, and the ability to work closely with users, developers, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues efficiently. This role requires strong analytical skills, ownership of incidents through closure, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 support for business applications, systems, and end users by diagnosing and resolving functional and technical issues.
- Monitor application health, system performance, and proactively identify recurring issues.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and coordinate with development or infrastructure teams for permanent fixes.
- Handle service requests including user access management, configuration updates, and issue resolution.
- Track, document, and maintain incident records, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Support deployment activities, testing, and validation for application updates and releases.
- Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime.
- Provide user guidance and support on applications, tools, and processes when required.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in information technology & computer science, or a related field.
- Experience level: 2-4 years in relevant fields
- Strong IT troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of enterprise applications, system support, and incident management processes
- Experience with ticketing/support tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL for troubleshooting is preferred
- Familiarity with Windows-based systems and general IT infrastructure support
- Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot user issues, and coordinate technical resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing, MES, or enterprise digital applications is an added advantage
- Exposure to application monitoring tools or scripting for troubleshooting is preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational or production support environment
- Knowledge of ITIL support processes is a plus
