Role Overview
As a Linux Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability, scalability, and performance of APT Research Pvt Ltd's Linux-based trading infrastructure. You will work in a live, latency-sensitive production environment supporting critical trading systems.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, monitor, and maintain Linux infrastructure and trading systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance in live trading environments
Diagnose, prioritize, and resolve high-severity incidents, proactively preventing recurrence through root-cause analysis and system improvements
Build and operate automation and tooling for provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and lifecycle management of Linux infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive production workloads
Administer and operate containerized platforms using Docker and Kubernetes
Manage CI/CD pipelines, including build, deployment, and release workflows using Jenkins and related tooling
Design and maintain automation and configuration management solutions for infrastructure operations
Manage and operate virtual machines and container-based environments across on-premises and hosted infrastructure
Perform OS patching, package installation, upgrades, and lifecycle management, ensuring minimal impact to production systems
Perform core system administration tasks including monitoring, backup and recovery, security hardening, and routine maintenance
Operate and maintain critical infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS across on-premises data centers, hosted environments, and public clouds
Tune and optimize Linux systems for low latency, participating in performance benchmarking, health checks, and capacity planning
Manage firewall environments and coordinate with vendors and data-center technicians for server installations and hardware issues globally
Participate in infrastructure projects, production change deployments, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
Be part of an on-call rotation providing 24×7 support for critical trading systems

Additional Information
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
2+ years of experience operating and maintaining Linux environments in production
Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration, on-prem infrastructure, and latency-sensitive systems
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues across trading, office, and global data-center environments
Hands-on experience with automation and monitoring tools, including configuration management, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments
Strong scripting skills in Shell and/or Python
Solid understanding of server hardware, Linux internals, and networking protocols
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in high-impact environments

Prior experience in high-frequency trading, low-latency systems, or market infrastructure
