The opportunity:

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision,documentationandcommissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai,Bangaloreand Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Define topologyand single line diagramfor FACTS solution based on customerrequirement.

  • Specify main circuit components such asPowerTransformer,PowerElectronicsValves,Reactors, Capacitors,CT, VT,Breakeretc. based on customer specification and international standards.

  • Co-ordinate withsuppliers fortheoptimaldesignof components mentioned in the point above.Evaluatetheirdesign and test record documents.

  • Perform design studies such asharmonicperformance,protectiondesign,insulationcoordinationincludingTOV/ TRV/lightingstudies,lossevaluationandReliability study.

  • Coordinate and communicate withother disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries.

  • Participate in customer discussions and Support Project Management/ Product Management/ Application Engineering team in customer acquisition and consultation.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Master's degree in Power Systemsand withrelevant workexperience of 5-8 years.

  • Experience with substation design and design studies such as protection, insulationcoordinationand lightning study.

  • Experience with specifying power system components and evaluationofvendordocuments.

  • In-depth understanding ofbasicsof power system steady state, dynamic and transient behavior.

  • Design experience in power electronic based plants such as solar and wind will be an added advantage.

  • KnowledgeofPSCADand MATLAB.In-depth understanding of internationalstandards (i.e., IEEE/IEC/GIGRE)for specifying power system componentsand design studies.

  • Good team player withabilityto work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-culturalteams.Good communicationskills and well-organizedindividuals.Good focus on attention todetails.

  • Ambitious, creative thinker and problem solver.Ability to workeffectivelyina fastpaced and highly fluctuating workload environment.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
