SUT Senior Associate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or other relevant field required.
• Master's degree in accounting beneficial, master's degree in taxation preferred.

Experience

• 6+ years of prior experience in Sales and Use Tax Compliance.
• Ability to schedule compliance cycle from retrieval of data to filing and payment and final reconciliation.
• Timely and prompt communication to stakeholders both internal and external.
• Well-versed with state-specific nuances and incorporating them into the process.

Software

• Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Products including Excel, Power Query, Access, Vertex, or other application for SUT.
• Familiarity with Alteryx and database software, preferred.

• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Effectively manage and leverage engagement workload.
• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to manage up or down.
• Capacity to work well in a team environment.
• Capable of effectively developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Notice Handling

• Taking an active role in knowledge sharing.
• Good command on E-filing, EDI, ACH Debit Credit, and Anybill.
• Prepare bills, assist with collections, and review invoices.
• Understands BDO USA client financial data and mechanics of state tax returns.
• Independently handle and troubleshoot challenges around the compliance process.
