Job Description
The Deputy Manager To manage and control Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF. operations for secondary steel refining, ensuring the required chemical composition, temperature control, steel cleanliness, and production efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards
Principal Accountabilities
Monitor and control Ladle Refining Furnace operations including heating alloy additions slag conditioning and argon purging to ensure optimal temperature control and chemical composition of molten steel before castingbr Coordinate with Basic Oxygen Furnace BOFElectric Arc Furnace EAF and Continuous Casting teams to ensure a smooth production flow and maintain refining practices that achieve low sulfur low oxygen and inclusion controlbr Ensure steel meets metallurgical specifications and customer quality requirements by monitoring slag chemistry alloy consumption and refining parameters and analyzing lab reports to take corrective actions if deviations occurbr Execute daily production plans in coordination with Steel Melting Shop SMS operations and casting departments minimizing delays between tapping refining and casting and improving LRF productivity and furnace availabilitybr Analyze operational data such as power consumption alloy yield and refining time to implement improvements that enhance process efficiency energy utilization and steel quality while supporting the development of new steel grades and refining practicesbr Supervise shift engineers operators and technicians involved in LRF operations providing technical guidance and training to the team and ensuring proper shift handover and communicationbr Ensure compliance with plant safety standards Standard Operating Procedures SOPs and environmental regulations by conducting safety inspections promoting safe working practices and investigating and reporting operational incidentsbr Coordinate with the maintenance department for preventive and breakdown maintenance of LRF equipment ensuring the availability of refractories electrodes and alloy materials
