Job Purpose : The purpose of the role is to undertake and meet the mechanical maintenance requirements for the Coal Mill in Power Plant in the respective shift, in a timely manner, thereby ensuring smooth and safe operations and reduction in work disruptions due to breakdowns.
To Ensure & monitor the day-to-day regular maintenance and PM activities of equipment’s as per EKAYYAN along with effective utilization of shift manpower for smooth operation and housekeeping of Coal Mill.

We have total 11 Nos. Boilers out of which 10 nos. in running & 1 no. has kept on standby purpose. Total power generation of unit is around 829 MW to support metal production at Renukoot plant. In our department We have total 56 nos. Coal Mills & Coal Feeders, our role is to maintain availability of Coal mills during operation of boilers also AOH & PM to be done as per schedule.
Job Challenges
- Availability of Coal Mill & Coal feeders in monsoon.
- Complete coal mill dismantling in AOH due to non-availability of sufficient manpower.
- Corrective maintenance is higher than planned maintenance.
- Coal Dust leakages & worm shaft oil leakages
