What You Can Expect
The Supply Chain & Logistics – Sourcing Senior Engineer II is responsible for supporting strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cost management activities across manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to ensure cost-effective, scalable, and high-quality supply solutions that support business and product growth objectives.
Work Location: Bangalore
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 Days in office)
How You'll Create Impact
- Lead sourcing activities for assigned commodities and suppliers, including RFQs, cost analysis, and supplier negotiations.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support new product introductions (NPI/NPD) and ongoing production requirements.
- Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives through supplier engagement, design collaboration, and process improvements.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities related to quality, capacity, cost, and delivery performance.
- Support supplier development activities, including technical reviews, performance management, and risk mitigation.
- Work with logistics and supply chain stakeholders to ensure consistent material availability and delivery performance.
- Analyze supplier capacity, identify constraints, and support supply continuity planning.
- Ensure alignment with internal policies, quality standards, and supply chain best practices
What Makes You Stand Out
- Strong experience in cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
- Hands-on working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams on design and manufacturability topics
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a cost-focused mindset
- Experience supporting sourcing activities in cross-functional, engineering-driven environments
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience using ERP / PLM systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or Windchill
- Machining background with exposure to manufacturing processes and supplier operations
- Experience in Process Engineering or working closely with process engineering teams
- Knowledge of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) concepts and methodologies
- Exposure to advanced negotiation strategies beyond basic price negotiations
- Experience conducting supplier capacity analysis and production feasibility assessments
- Background in Orthopedic or Medical Device manufacturing or other regulated environments
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline)
- Relevant experience in sourcing, supply chain engineering, or manufacturing-driven roles
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global team environments
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & RFQs
- Cost control/ cost reduction/ cost avoidence.
Good To Have Skills (Preferred)
- ERP and PLM (SAP/ Oracle/ JDE / Windchill)
- DFSS (Design for Six Sigma)
