The impact you'll make
At Lam, as a Supply Chain Business Manager, you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence. Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. You'll benchmark and monitor supplier performance to manage risk. By driving continuous supplier process improvements you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.
What You'll Do
- At Lam, as a Supply Chain Business Manager, you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence.
- Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle.
- By driving continuous supplier process improvements, you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.
- Define, monitor, and evaluate supplier performance metrics
- Identify risks associated within the selected supplier base
- Drive continuous supplier process and performance improvement related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, Supplier Managed Inventory) capacity planning and manufacturing strategies
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Document and share best known methods (BKMs)
- Assure that suppliers have the capacity to meet our current and future needs as well as ongoing upside capacity to satisfy unplanned/ buffer demands.
- Plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials
- Manage allocations/priorities
- Work on escalations and delivery improvements
- Drive lead-time reduction efforts
- Create presentations, executive summaries, and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement programs
- Work with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields, and at least 5 years of experience in supply chain, NPI, procurement or similar supplier-facing roles
- Knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, materials management, manufacturing processes, business fundamentals/finance
- Project/program management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional team or matrix environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including executive presentations
- Stakeholder management
- Knowledge of semiconductor industry and/or capital equipment supply chain is a plus

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
