This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India and work with Global Supplier Quality team. This individual would be responsible to manage PCBA commodity supplier engineering tasks by working closely with suppliers and supplier engineering team in US and Asia region.
The impact you'll make
As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.
What You'll Do
This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India and with Global Supplier Quality team. This individual would be responsible to manage PCBA commodity supplier engineering tasks by working closely with suppliers and supplier engineering team in US and Asia region. Individual's primary job responsibilities are listed below:
- Assess potential PCBA suppliers for capability, capacity, quality systems, compliance with industry standards. Lead supplier audits and qualification processes.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop, refine, optimize PCBA manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, delivery requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Provide technical support to suppliers on PCBA design, assembly techniques, materials selection, manufacturing best practices. Troubleshoot process and product-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of supplier qualifications, process specifications, test procedures, and quality records.
- Work independently to handle commodity projects like regionalization and dual sourcing projects, Non-conformance reduction programs, new supplier qualification and obtains CFT approvals thru design reviews.
- Collaborate cross functionally and globally to execute strategies, clearly communicate across engineering specializations and different levels of the organization for strategy implementation.
- Measure supplier performance and drive continuous improvements using the Supplier Scorecard Tool.
Who We're Looking For
- Hands on experience in Supplier assessments, evaluation, qualification, and development process.
- Working knowledge and understanding manufacturing processes of PCBA (Solder Paste Printing/Inspection, SMT Process, Reflow, Wave Soldering, Washing, different Testing methods)
- Basic understanding of test report interpretation and strong ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, interpretation of BOM, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) practiced at supplier end.
- Proficient in Problem solving tools like, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, DOE etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic and fast paced business environment with cross-functional teams to execute the project and meet deliverables.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's/master's degree in electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Communication engineering with minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
