Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the company's quality performance indicators by ensuring supplier compliance and continuous improvement. To achieve this, the candidate will develop and manage effective supplier quality processes, train internal and external stakeholders, and proactively incorporate quality data, supplier performance trends, and customer feedback into corrective and preventive actions.

Responsibilities

Supplier Qualification & Approval

  • Conduct supplier audits (System, Process & Product audits) as per ISO 9001 / AS9100 or applicable standards.
  • Evaluate new suppliers for capability, capacity, technology, and compliance before onboarding.

2. Supplier Performance Monitoring

  • Track and report supplier performance metrics: PPM, on-time delivery (OTD/OTTR), SCAR closure rate, NCR trends.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and conduct periodic performance review meetings.

3. Issue Resolution & Corrective Actions

  • Lead and manage supplier non-conformances through structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
  • Ensure timely closure and effectiveness verification of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).

4. Incoming Quality & Material Validation

  • Collaborate with Incoming Inspection team to define sampling plans, acceptance criteria, and inspection checklists.
  • Approve Certificates of Conformance (CoC), test reports, PPAP/FAI submissions, and material traceability documents.

5. Process & Quality Improvement

  • Drive supplier continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, SPC, FMEA, MSA, DOE or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support suppliers in developing/maintaining Process Control Plan, FMEA, Process Flow Chart, and Standard Work Instructions.

6. Change Management

  • Review and approve supplier engineering changes with risk evaluation and validation planning.
  • Participate in PPAP, APQP, FAI and NPI supplier readiness activities.

Qualifications

  • B. Tech
  • 6+ years of Supplier Quality experience
  • Strong verbal or written communication skills
