Job Description

Role: Supplier Manager - Factory, Capex and Logistics

Location: Hosur, Tamil Nadu

Reporting to-Lead - Factory, Capex and Logistics

Team name: Indirect Sourcing, Supply Chain

About the Team and the Role:

The Indirect Sourcing, Supply Chain team at Ather is responsible for managing supplier

initiatives and ensuring smooth supply chain operations at the factory in alignment with

organizational strategy.

This role is for a leader to handle indirect commodities for PAN India operations, including

professional managed services, logistics, and warehousing, while fostering a collaborative and

results-oriented environment at the factory.

The Indirect Sourcing team at the factory is responsible for the end-to-end strategic sourcing

and lifecycle management of all non-production goods and services required for factory

operations.

This role serves as the critical bridge between factory teams and external vendors to ensure

zero production downtime and optimize the cost

Responsibilities:

Design and execute supplier management initiatives aligned with organizational priorities

and objectives.

Oversee smooth factory supply chain operations adhering to overall Supply Chain policies

and strategy.

Manage indirect commodities including professional services, logistics, warehousing,

import/export, and business services.

Coordinate with stakeholders and HQ for strategic sourcing, supplier performance reviews,

and project implementations.

Lead, coach, and motivate a team of supply chain professionals at the factory.

Review technical and commercial documents, including contracts, GPAs, and NDAs related

to the factory.

Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and design actionable improvement plans with

suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance, identify risks proactively, and ensure timely supply fulfillment

and quality.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for factory requirements

Lead the commodity by collaborating with Engineering to define technical specifications

and conducting Should-Cost modeling.

Identify and onboard new suppliers to mitigate single-source risks in the local and regional

market.

Manage a diverse portfolio of indirect vendors, conducting regular Quarterly Business

Reviews (QBRs) to track performance.

Act as the primary escalation point for the factory when vendors fail to meet Service

Level Agreements (SLAs).

Drive supplier innovation, encouraging vendors to propose solutions that reduce factory

energy consumption or maintenance frequency.

Partner closely with user teams to forecast demand and prevent stock-out situations for

critical spare parts.

Work with Finance to manage the factory's indirect budget, ensuring compliance and

tracking realized cost savings.

Negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs),

focusing on indemnity, warranty, and lead-time penalties.

Ensure all indirect suppliers comply with site-specific Safety, Health, and Environment

(EHS) standards.

Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering or an MBA in Supply Chain Management.

8-10 years of relevant functional experience in handling indirect commodities procurement.

Must Have Competencies:

Expertise in indirect commodities procurement covering professional services, logistics,

warehousing, and import/export.

Mastery of supplier landscape understanding, value chain mapping, and zero-based

costing.

Proven capability in developing and executing strategic supplier engagement programs and

initiatives.

Proficiency in spend analysis, commercial negotiations, and application of INCOTERMS.

Good to have Competencies:

Execution of program management pillars including time, cost, and quality control.

Experience managing procurement and supply chain initiatives for greenfield projects.

Technical document review skills for contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and general

power of attorney.

Strategic sourcing and performance management experience within the automobile or

aerospace industries.
