Job Description

Job Purpose

This position exists with the objective of ensuring overall operations supervision at onsite

The Supervisor ensures that the clients interacting with them are satisfied with Saahas Zero Waste services and should set the tone and vision for the field staff.

Key objectives of this role are

  • Implement quality assurance and control systems for waste operation at onsite
  • Documentation and Data management - Waste and onsite staff
  • Assist in the transfer of waste to destination

Job Responsibilities

Waste Management Operations

W1. Manage onsite waste management operations including waste flow, quality of waste,

waste processing

W2. Staff management including selection, induction, training & development, competence assessment

W3. Logistics/fleet management

W4. Enable operations team to execute client requirements

W5. Ensure SOPs are executed on the field with attention to detail

W6. Supervisors are responsible for the precise processing of the different waste streams.

W7. Monitor standard operations and resolve any deviations

W8. Supervisors must know how to work all of the equipment for waste processing.

W9. Motivate team to optimize and constantly improve performance while following procedures and maintaining a safe, hygienic and dignified work environment

Documentation

D1. Supervisors must coordinate and regularly communicate with their team (Project Managers and Operations Managers) through messages, calls, and meetings.

D2. Staff onboarding prior to joining operations - work, materials, rules, and expectations.

D3. Regularly enter reliable data regarding operations and report client experience

D4. Record any near misses, incidents and accidents in database and ensure corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

D5. Track & document type and quantity of waste is generated at the client location.

D6. Flag any major change in the quantities to the Project Manager.

Management And Administration

M1. Allocate work to Field Staff and manage workload

M2. Mitigate/Communicate/Escalate any concerns/issues voiced by Field Staff

M3. Coordinate internally with various teams to meet client requirements

M4. Elicit and ensure participation of Field Staff in defining SOPs, identifying hazards and ensuring work place safety

M5. Weekly training to staff to ensure compliance with SOPs

M6. Understand contract requirements in coordination with Project Managers

M7. Meet clients regularly to ensure client satisfaction and adjust processes if required

M8. Ensure client side trainings are completed
