About the Role:
Indian Farmer is looking for a Subtitle Designer to create accurate English subtitles for our courses, which are primarily recorded in Hindi.
The role focuses on converting Hindi speech into clear and readable English subtitles that help learners easily follow the educational content. While we encourage the use of AI tools to assist with rapid subtitle generation, the final output must be meticulously reviewed manually to ensure flawless accuracy, clarity, and correct timing. This is a project-based role where you will take ownership of subtitling full courses, spanning multiple lessons and modules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subtitle Creation: Create highly accurate English subtitles for Hindi course videos, ensuring they perfectly reflect the instructor's spoken content and intent.
- AI & Manual Review: Use AI tools where helpful for speed, but take full responsibility for manually reviewing and correcting subtitles for complete accuracy.
- Sync & Timing: Maintain proper timing and precise synchronization with the spoken dialogue so the viewer experience is seamless.
- Quality & Consistency: Ensure subtitles are clear, readable, and consistent across all lessons within a course. Maintain impeccable English grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
- Brand Guidelines: Strictly follow defined subtitle style guidelines, including specific fonts, on-screen placement, and timing rules.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 13 years of professional experience in subtitle creation, closed captioning, or video editing.
- Language Skills: Exceptional understanding of both Hindi and English. You must have the ability to accurately translate spoken rural/agricultural Hindi into clear, professional English subtitles.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with subtitle tools and NLEs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Subtitle Edit, or similar software.
- AI Adaptability: Comfortable and efficient using modern AI tools for subtitle generation and transcription.
- Execution Mindset: Strong attention to detail, a sharp eye for spotting grammatical errors, and the ability to maintain consistency across long-form educational content.
