Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced GCP Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Google Cloud Platform solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in GCP services, cloud architecture, security, networking, and DevOps practices, along with the ability to guide technical teams and stakeholders in delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
- Architect and manage core GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and VPC.
- Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premises or other cloud platforms to GCP.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or Deployment Manager.
- Configure networking components including VPC, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud VPN, and Load Balancers.
- Ensure security best practices including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance standards.
- Optimize cloud costs and performance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Stay updated with new GCP features and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of IT experience with at least 3.5+ years in Google Cloud Platform.
Strong Hands-on Experience With
- Compute Engine
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Cloud Storage
- Cloud SQL / BigQuery
- VPC & Networking
- IAM & Security
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Strong understanding of cloud security and governance.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Cloud Monitoring, Logging).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Engineer Certification.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in hybrid cloud architecture.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation.
