About the Role
We are building our new study abroad office in Indore and are looking for a capable Study Abroad Counselor who can handle student inquiries, conduct impactful counseling, and drive conversions. This role demands excellent communication, confidence on calls, structured follow-ups, and the ability to guide students from inquiry to application.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Calling & Inquiry Handling
- Make consistent outbound calls to aspirants who have shown interest in studying abroad
- Handle inbound inquiries professionally and ensure quick turnaround.
Student Profiling & Counseling
- Understand academic background, interests, budget, and long-term career goals.
- Ask structured probing questions and recommend relevant study pathways.
Admissions Process Guidance
- Communicate clearly on application steps, requirements, deadlines, and document checklists
- Guide students on scholarships (where applicable), intakes, and timelines.
Follow-ups & Lead Nurturing
- Run systematic follow-ups via calls/WhatsApp/email.
- Address concerns, overcome objections, and move leads toward decisions.
Database / CRM Updates
- Maintain accurate lead records, notes, and statuses in the system (CRM/Excel).
- Ensure data hygiene and reporting readiness.
Event Promotion & Outreach Support
- Invite students to webinars/info sessions and coordinate confirmations.
- Support local outreach activities when needed.
Application & Administrative Support
- Assist with forms, document submission, and coordination of visa process steps (as per internal SOP).
Feedback & Continuous Improvement
- Collect student feedback and share insights to improve counseling quality and lead messaging.
Skills & Qualities We Value
- Excellent spoken English (a strong voice and clear articulation is a plus)
- Confident, persuasive, and empathetic communication
- Strong presence of mind; able to handle questions and objections smoothly
- Detail-oriented follow-ups and disciplined CRM habits
- Comfort with targets/KPIs and conversion-driven work
Preferred Background
- Experience in study abroad counseling, admissions, education sales, or tele-counseling preferred
- Graduate minimum (Master's preferred)
