Role Description The Student Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, responsible for guiding students through their education and study abroad decisions. In this role, the counselor meets with students and families to understand their academic background, interests, and career aspirations, and then advises on appropriate countries, institutions, and courses. Day-to-day tasks include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission requirements and application processes, coordinating documentation, and following up with students throughout their decision-making and application journey. The counselor also provides information on scholarships, financial planning, and visa-related steps in coordination with the wider team, while maintaining accurate records of interactions and outcomes. Collaboration with colleagues, participation in education fairs or information sessions, and continuous updating of knowledge about universities and programs are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications

• Strong Student Counseling skills, with experience supporting learners in academic and study-abroad decisions.
• Career Counseling abilities to help students connect education choices with long-term career paths.
• Effective Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English and active listening.
• Customer Service skills to manage inquiries professionally and maintain positive, supportive relationships with students and families.
• Background or strong interest in Education, preferably with knowledge of higher education systems in overseas.
• Relevant academic qualification, such as a bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Ability to work on-site in Kochi, manage multiple student cases, and maintain organized documentation.
• Comfort with basic computer applications, online research, and CRM or student management tools.
• Prior experience in student advising, overseas education consulting, or academic counseling is an advantage.
