Role Description

This is a part-time, remote freelance role for a Structural Designer. The role involves creating construction drawings, utilizing CAD software, and applying advanced structural and civil engineering principles. The designer will focus on steel design projects and generate technical solutions tailored to meet specific client needs.

Our technical direction is driven by 7D BIM, where we integrate facility management datasuch as asset lifecycles and maintenance schedulesdirectly into our structural models to ensure long-term preservation.

* Design Responsibility: At StructuFix, technical integrity is paramount. Upon successful collaboration, the candidate is required to sign/certify the drawings and designs provided by them and will be held professionally accountable for the structural solutions delivered.

• Execution Compliance: To support our engineers, StructuFix guarantees strict compliance with the provided designs during on-site execution. We ensure that our site teams implement every technical specification exactly as prescribed by the structural engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions for structural repair, rehabilitation, and retrofitting (e.g., jacketing, carbon wrapping, section enlargement).
• Create construction drawings and structural models tailored for existing industrial asset conditions.
• Focus on steel design projects and technical solutions for factories and warehouses.
• Collaborate on 7D BIM workflows to integrate maintenance data into structural designs.
• Provide technical certification/signatures for all assigned design outputs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Construction Drawings and Steel Design.
• Expertise in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering.
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to work independently.
• Experience working on industrial or commercial structural projects (Retrofitting experience highly preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Masters Degree in Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Licensing: Ability to provide professional signatures/stamps for structural designs.
