Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP) organization drives enterprise-wide value by cultivating strategic supplier partnerships and elevating commercial decision-making across the business. GSP provides global stakeholders with streamlined access to best-in-class products and services, informed by robust business intelligence, deep supply-market knowledge, and a clear grasp of micro and macroeconomic dynamics.

Through efficient, disciplined processes and proactive commercial coaching, GSP empowers stakeholders to make informed, value-driven decisions that strengthen the company's competitive advantage.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist operates as a core tactical partner within GSP's guided buying ecosystem. This role manages Buy Desk intake across all spend categories, ensuring accurate routing, high-quality data capture, and seamless enablement of sourcing channels. The specialist provides an operational backbone for savings achievement, synthesizes internal and market benchmarks, and leverages AI enabled tools to streamline processes and enhance decision quality. This role also plays a global coordination function—working closely with Strategic Sourcing and Category Management peers across the US, Japan, Ireland, the United Kingdom and India to standardize intake, taxonomy, reporting, and service consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the Buy Desk across all spend categories by triaging intake requests, validating completeness, and routing to the appropriate Buying Channel (e.g., catalog, P‑card, RFx, contracting).
  • Maintain Globality RFx hygiene and update Conga CLM metadata to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Build and manage spend and total cost-of-ownership baselines, proposal scoring models, and contract metadata that serve as the analytical foundation for Finance validation of savings.
  • Coach and guide business requestors on appropriate channel selection, required data completeness, and distinctions between cost reduction and cost avoidance.
  • Synthesize market and internal benchmarks—such as rate-card trends and vendor scorecards—to improve decision-making accuracy and sourcing pipeline quality.
  • Leverage AI tools to automate cleansing/classification, generate suggestion prompts, track CLM obligations, and produce Glo‑generated scope summaries.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Sourcing & Category Management counterparts globally (US, Japan, Ireland, India) to standardize intake processes, taxonomy definitions, and reporting frameworks.
  • Conduct AI assisted analysis to accelerate learning of savings frameworks and support guided buying operations.
  • Enable stakeholders via ongoing coaching so they can effectively self-serve using guided buying tools and data assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience in analytics, reporting, procurement operations, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting stakeholders in a service-oriented environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with sourcing processes, RFx events, contract lifecycle activities, or purchasing channels (preferred).

Skills and Competencies

  • AI Proficiency: Ability to apply reusable AI prompts and pipelines to accelerate intake quality, data preparation, and insight generation.
  • Analytical Strength: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret benchmarks, unit rate trends, and vendor performance data.
  • Service Orientation: High service orientation with strong communication skills to coach requestors and ensure high-quality intake.
  • Tool Navigation: Comfort navigating digital procurement tools (Globality, Conga CLM, guided buying platforms) and applying metadata standards.
  • Execution Discipline: Ability to balance tactical execution with disciplined documentation, compliance awareness, and global coordination.
  • Continuous Curiosity: Curiosity and willingness to adopt new AI supported capabilities to drive process efficiency and value realization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works effectively with strategic sourcing, operations, category managers, and other procurement partners.
