In this role, as the Strategic Analytics Associate, you will be an individual contributor , working as part of the ICB Risk Reporting and Data team , help build analytical data layer, build dashboards and generate insightful analytics and provide recommendations to the business regarding risk criteria development, implementation, operational controls, and performance monitoring for International Consumer Business (ICB) - Chase UK.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a range of stakeholders across the ICB organization, including risk leads, data owners and technology colleagues to understand business needs and translate them into data requirements and analytical solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data owners to interpret new data.
  • Analyze data, build data transformation pipelines on AWS.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive and user-friendly dashboards using Google Looker.
  • Explore datasets to uncover trends and relationships.
  • Present complex data in visually appealing ways to aid communication.
  • Perform and build data quality checks for accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure adherence to Analytical solution governance processes.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in data and visualization.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management, or related field with 6+ years of industry experience in Data Management, focusing on Data Analytics and Visualizations.
  • Hands-on practical experience with analytical solution design, development, testing, and operational stability, particularly data pipelines for moving/transforming data.
  • Design and develop data models and write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
  • Deep Knowledge of SQL including proficiency with window expressions, joins, aggregations and performance tuning.
  • Write data quality rules to provide accurate, complete and timely data for reporting.
  • Experience of delivering in an agile environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior audiences in presentations and written communications.
  • Strong experience in building scalable LookML models and advanced visualizations in Google Looker, with the ability to understand risk reporting needs and translate data into actionable insights using effective data visualization techniques.
  • Perform periodic analytics to provide management with full insight into emerging trends and the quality of the originated accounts to aid risk decisions.

Additional Skills, Experience and Qualifications

The following additional items will be considered as an added advantage for this role.

  • Knowledge of UK Retail Banking Products and Credit Risk Portfolio Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience of MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of AWS tools such as Redshift, SageMaker, code management tool Github and data orchestration tool dbt.
  • Demonstrable experience with Python and associated data manipulation libraries to describe data.
  • Descriptive statistics concepts - mean, median, mode, percentiles, density functions, cumulative distribution.
  • Highly self-motivated with an ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and execute to completion.
