Job Summary
The Store Manager will be responsible for the overall management of raw material, chemicals, engineering spares, and packaging materials used in the edible oil refinery. The role includes inventory control, coordination with production and maintenance teams, vendor interaction, and accurate record-keeping using Tally ERP to ensure smooth plant operations and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Store Operations
- Manage receipt, storage, issuance, and stock control of:
- Engineering spares and maintenance materials
- Refinery chemicals (caustic, acids, bleaching earth, etc.)
- Food-grade packaging materials (tins, bottles, pouches, cartons, caps, labels)
- Ensure proper segregation, labeling, and storage as per safety and food-grade norms
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid production downtime
ERP & Documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory records in Tally ERP
- Prepare GRNs, issue slips, stock transfers, and consumption reports
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile with system data
- Maintain documentation for audits, ISO, FSSAI, and internal controls
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Purchase, and Quality departments
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices, especially for chemicals and packaging materials
- Follow safety guidelines for handling hazardous and food-grade materials
- Assist management in cost control and inventory optimization
Vendor & Logistics Support
- Coordinate with suppliers and transporters for material receipt
- Verify material quality and quantity against purchase orders
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Store Manager / Stores In-Charge
- Prior experience in an edible oil refinery, food processing plant, or chemical industry preferred
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- Engineering spares and maintenance materials
- Industrial and refinery chemicals
- Food-grade packaging materials
- Working knowledge of Tally ERP for inventory and accounting entries
Skills
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills
- Basic understanding of safety, compliance, and food industry standards
- Ability to coordinate across departments
- Honest, disciplined, and detail-oriented
