About The Opportunity

A growing employer in the organized retail & consumer goods sector operating multi-store formats across India. We run fast-paced, customer-facing retail outlets focused on product availability, visual standards, and profit-driven operations. This is an on-site leadership role for a hands-on store leader who drives sales, operational excellence, and team performance.

Role: Retail Store Manager (On-site) Location: India

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own daily store operations: execute opening/closing procedures, ensure merchandise availability, and maintain visual merchandising standards to maximise footfall and conversion.
  • Drive sales and profitability by managing pricing, promotions, and achieving month-on-month revenue and margin targets.
  • Manage inventory life-cycle: control stock levels, coordinate replenishment, conduct cycle counts, and minimise shrinkage through loss-prevention practices.
  • Lead hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of store staff; coach associates to deliver high-quality customer service and upsell effectively.
  • Own store P&L and operational compliance; control costs (shrinkage, payroll, operating expenses) and report on KPIs to regional leadership.
  • Implement store-level initiatives, visual campaigns, and customer experience improvements; respond to customer escalations to preserve brand reputation.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Proven retail store management experience with demonstrable sales and P&L ownership.
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and day-to-day transactional operations.
  • Strong competency in inventory management and loss-prevention processes.
  • Track record executing visual merchandising and store presentation standards.
  • Operational skills: staff scheduling, rostering, and labour cost control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for basic reporting and store-level analytics.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with retail ERP or store-management software (Tally, SAP Retail, or similar).
  • Experience with CRM or loyalty platforms and omnichannel store fulfilment.
  • Background in multi-store operations or regional leadership responsibilities.
