As a Dell Storage Administrator (L3), you will be responsible for managing, administering, and optimizing enterprise Dell storage solutions, including Dell EMC PowerStore, Unity, SC Series/Compellent, Isilon, XtremIO, or PowerMax. You will provide advanced technical support, resolve escalated incidents, and work closely with infrastructure, virtualization, and backup teams to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of storage environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L3 operational support for Dell storage systems (PowerStore, Unity, SC Series/Compellent, Isilon, PowerMax).
- Perform installation, configuration, provisioning, and administration of SAN/NAS storage systems.
- Manage storage allocation, zoning, masking, LUN creation, replication, and migrations.
- Implement and manage data protection, snapshots, replication, DR solutions, and backup integration.
- Proactively monitor storage infrastructure performance and capacity, ensuring optimal utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage issues escalated from L1/L2 teams.
- Collaborate with VMware, Windows, Linux, Database, and Network teams for integrated solutions.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and storage system health checks.
- Maintain and update documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
- Participate in on-call support rotation and provide RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for critical incidents.
- Lead storage projects, including migrations, expansions, new deployments, and automation initiatives.
- Ensure security compliance and follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Dell Compellent (SC Series), PowerStore, Unity, Isilon, or PowerMax.
- Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS).
- Experience with Brocade/Cisco SAN switches (zoning, fabric management).
- Proficiency in storage replication technologies (SRDF, RecoverPoint, MirrorView, etc.).
- Familiarity with VMware, Windows, Linux, and backup solutions (Networker, Avamar, Veeam, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning skills.
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation is a plus.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and incident/change/problem management.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts (shift cab allowances provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dell EMC Storage Certifications (DECS-IE, Dell EMC Proven Professional).
- Experience with cloud-integrated storage solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and cybersecurity practices.
