KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trader Mindset & Market Strategy
- Act as a market opportunist, constantly tracking price trends, global supply-demand shifts, and arbitrage opportunities.
- Develop a risk-taking yet calculated approach to maximize profitability while managing downside exposure.
- Stay ahead of market intelligence, geopolitical influences, and macroeconomic factors affecting steel prices.
- Make quick, data-driven decisions with confidence, balancing risk and reward.
- Have an instinct for timing the market, knowing when to buy aggressively or hold back.
Trading & Business Development
- Actively trade steel products such as hot-rolled coils (HRC), cold-rolled coils (CRC), rebars, billets, sheets, plates, and structural steel.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with domestic and international steel producers, traders, and end-users.
- Negotiate and execute buying and selling contracts while ensuring profitability and risk management.
- Work closely with logistics, warehousing, and finance teams to optimize costs and execution.
Risk & Pricing Management
- Develop real-time pricing models based on market trends, competitor activity, and cost structures.
- Anticipate and hedge against price volatility using industry tools and financial instruments if applicable.
- Adapt trading strategies on the fly, leveraging short-term market movements for profit.
Relationship Management & Deal-Making
- Build and maintain a strong network of suppliers, distributors, and customers to ensure a steady flow of deals.
- Leverage relationships and market insights to negotiate the best terms.
- Ensure seamless execution of trades by coordinating with operations, finance, and compliance teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Commerce, Metallurgy, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred.
