We are seeking a Staff Writer Defense to join our defense vertical. This role is focused on daily news writing and editing related to defense, military technology, and global security.

Responsibilities:

• Track and report on daily defense and military news
• Write clear, accurate, and timely news articles
• Edit, fact-check, and prepare content for publication
• Conduct research using credible and authoritative sources
• Respond quickly and accurately to breaking news
• Collaborate with editors and fellow writers in a fast-moving newsroom
• Maintain high standards of journalistic integrity, accuracy, and fairness

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field
• 35+ years of experience in news writing or editing
• Strong interest and knowledge in defense, military affairs, or geopolitics
• Excellent news judgment, headline writing, and editorial skills
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and fact-checking discipline
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Familiarity with digital publishing and online news workflows
