Job Summary

NetApp stands at the forefront of innovation with StorageGRID object storage, an AWS cloud-compatible software that supports the rapid expansion of AI data lakes. As a Staff Software Engineer in this domain, you will collaborate closely with a team of skilled engineers, sharing your vision and playing a pivotal role in deploying cutting-edge cloud storage solutions. Your expertise in testing and automation will be instrumental in maintaining clean, efficient code, and you will have the opportunity to address customer challenges in AI data lakes by both developing new code and refactoring existing solutions to improve productivity. You are expected to be decisive yet adaptable, recognising when it is appropriate to embrace emerging technologies.

Job Requirements

  • Champion customer success by defining test architecture and test strategy including test automation frameworks, test deployments scenarios and test plans for enterprise grade product.
  • Lead and develop test strategy and test plan for various areas not limiting to stress, scale, load, limits, reliability, durability, resiliency and other non-functional areas in distributed hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead efforts towards test efficiencies and thereby drive improved productivity and enhanced quality of the product.
  • Raise the quality bar with innovative methods and leveraging futuristic methodologies and approaches.
  • Mentor engineers on effective test writing, automation best practices, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Introduce and integrate modern QA methodologies, processes and technologies that align with team strengths and product needs.
  • Analyze test results, document standards and procedures, and drive timely resolution of issues.
  • Contribute to test environments, CI/CD pipelines, and lab infrastructure to support system testing.

Education

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing and automation, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality test suites and frameworks.
  • Expertise in test design, automation scripting (Ruby/Pearl/Python or equivalent), and architecting and building maintainable automation solutions.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, HTTP, networking concepts, AWS APIs, NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra), distributed systems, Linux, and containers.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, introduce process improvements, and elevate overall QA performance.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and continuous integration.
  • Experience with leveraging AI tools and methods for Product / System testing.
