Roles & Responsibilities:
You will be expected to perform the following tasks and responsibilities in a manner consistent with CBA's Values and People Capabilities.
You'll be joining a highexpectation environment where engineering excellence directly influences customer outcomes. You'll work closely with the Engineering Chapter Lead, Product Owners, designers and engineers across multiple Complaints Transformation squads.
Our stack centres on fullstack .net Core, NextJS and AWS, and we're increasingly embracing AInative engineering practices. Your leadership will help shape patterns, improve consistency, and accelerate delivery across the crew.
This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity, works independently when needed, and enjoys guiding others through clear thinking, modern patterns and thoughtful use of AI.
Staff Software Engineer will work with our chapter lead, crew tech lead and/or other solution/ enterprise architectures and will be working in a team.
Focusing on the design and overall solution for development and deployment to our cloud infrastructure.
Will optimize solutions to simplify our technology landscape. Solve complex, technical challenges so crews can focus on business outcomes.
Utilise strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes.
Promote best engineering principles and practices into project work
Continually learning modern technology best practices and bring them back to the group. Go above and beyond in improving quality and performance in the delivery of efficient, reliable and maintainable application and solutions that meet design and requirements specifications for technology projects.

Essential Skills:
10+ years of experience into .NET Core, REST APIs, Microservices, streaming platforms like Kafka.
Lead engineering design, architecture and handson delivery across Complaints Transformation systems.
HTML5, CSS and Javascript. Also, strong in one of the JS frameworks - React, NextJS. Preferably NextJS.
Excellent knowledge of OOPS concepts and design patterns, SOLID principles.
Strong in any of Cloud providers. Preferably AWS or Azure. Architect, deploy and operate secure, scalable AWS workloads (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, IAM)
CI/CD: Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and AWSnative tooling. Proficient knowledge of Dockers and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge with splunk or any observability tools and performance tooling like AppDynamics.
Either of the relational databases like MSSQL / Oracle. Also, any No-SQL database like MongoDB etc.
- Plan work with AI, create structured prompts, and critically review AIgenerated code
- Help uplift the crew's capability by demonstrating where AI adds value, where it needs guardrails and how to incorporate it effectively
- Support a shift towards engineering focused on orchestration, analysis, review and architecture rather than repetitive manual coding
People Skills
Proven experience to establish rapport, engage and maintain working relationships with internal & external stakeholders, service providers and peers across multiple disciplines and seniority in an Agile environment
Proven experience to be able to collaborate and work with product owner, engineers, analysts and other people in the squad to identify risks early and help fix bugs improving quality of the product
Established confidence to challenge senior members of the team and stakeholders, regardless of disciplines, when required
Have a positive CAN DO attitude
Strong collaboration and influencing skills in leading continuous improvements initiatives in engineering as well api development activities
Strong customer focus with demonstrable experience in applying technical expertise and problem solving to meet customer needs
Possess qualities of a mentor who can technically guide engineers.
Establish, refine and maintain scalable, secure and modern engineering patterns.
Support multiple squads by unblocking technical problems and providing clear direction
Strong experience in design and overall solution for multiple enterprise level projects.
Good to have knowledge in AI
Use AI tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, RooCode, etc.) daily to accelerate coding, testing, documentation and design
Educational Qualifications: B.Tech and above
