Job Title: Staff Software Engineer
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Business & Team: Join our innovative Software Engineering team within the Technology division at CommBank. Our team is dedicated to developing and optimizing cutting-edge applications that drive the bank's digital transformation. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Impact & Contribution: As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key leader in designing and implementing full stack solutions that leverage cloud technologies, CI/CD practices, and data insights. Your role will involve creating proof-of-concept (POC) solutions and demonstrating them to a wider audience. You will also mentor individuals and groups, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation with emerging tech stacks. Additionally, you will use factual data to negotiate and make informed recommendations on data points. As the Risk Champion, you will ensure that risk management practices are integrated into all aspects of software development.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using modern technologies and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Implement cloud-based solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
- Design and implement scalable and secure software architectures that meet business requirements.
- Utilize data insights to inform solution design and optimize application performance.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Essential Tech Skills:
Agility:
- Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and deliver iterative improvements.
Full Stack Development:
- Strong experience in full stack development using technologies such as C# .NET, React Typescript or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in both front-end and back-end development.
- Proficiency in Secure API Development
DevOps:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and cloud-native development.
- Have domain Knowledge of DevOps strategy
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Github Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity, or other similar platforms. Github Actions certification is considered an asset.
Solution Design:
- Solid understanding of solution design principles and software architecture patterns.
- Ability to design scalable and secure software solutions.
Data Knowledge:
- Knowledge of data technologies and practices, including databases, data modelling, and data analytics.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Knowledge:
- GenAI Fundamentals in software development is a plus.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
