Job Title: Staff Platform Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Business & Team: The CTO organisation is responsible for building, running, and evolving the bank's core technology platforms. It drives technology strategy, software engineering, cloud and infrastructure platforms, reliability, security, and modernisation to enable safe, scalable, and innovative digital experiences for customers and business units. The Storage and Data Protection team designs, engineers, and operates enterprise storage and backup platforms. The team ensures data availability, resilience, security, and compliance across onpremises and cloud environments by managing storage services, backup and recovery, data protection, migrations, and disaster recovery capabilities.

Impact & contribution: Lead a highperforming storage engineering team responsible for designing, operating, and evolving enterprisegrade block, file, and object storage platforms supporting critical business workloads. The role balances handson technical leadership with people leadership and operational excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop storage engineers across block, file, object, and SAN domains

  • Own technical health, architecture, and operations of enterprise storage platforms

  • Act as senior escalation points for complex incidents and outages

  • Drive automation, documentation, and continuous improvement

  • Partner with cloud, network, security, and data protection teams

  • Translate business strategy into a clear storage technology roadmap

Essential Skills:

  • 12+ years experience in enterprise storage engineering environments

  • Own the technical health, architecture, and operations of enterprise storage platforms, including Dell EMC VMAX / PowerMax, Dell ECS, enterprise file storage, and replication technologies.

  • Provide hands-on leadership for storage provisioning, performance tuning, capacity planning, disaster recovery, upgrades, and lifecycle management.

  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex storage incidents and outages.

  • Review and approve storage designs for on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-integrated environments.

  • SAN & Network Integration - Design and operational oversight of Brocade/Cisco SAN switch configuration, zoning strategies, and fabric design.

  • Troubleshooting SAN performance and connectivity issues.

  • Partnering with network teams to ensure stable and secure end-to-end storage connectivity.

  • DevSecOps principles and secure delivery practices

  • CI/CD pipeline concepts and Git-based workflows

  • Ansible and infrastructure automation awareness

  • Scripting fundamentals (Shell/Python)

  • AWS cloud and storage service fundamentals

  • AI awareness.

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
